Building Awareness around Barcelona as an Entrepreneurial, Scientific, Innovation and Cultural hub

On October 29th , I had the pleasure to lead a group of first year MBA students through their "MBA Day", a full packed day put together by Barcelona Global, allowing more than 500 MBA international students from the most prestigious Barcelonian Business Schools to know first-hand the business, scientific, cultural, and innovative Barcelona. More than 20 companies and research centers opened their home to show the MBA students their business model and its connection with Barcelona. Leaders from top companies welcomed them and explained the potential of Barcelona as a city for impactful talent and economic activity. As a volunteering guide for the day, I was up for a great ride.

My Highlights of the day :

▶️ Barcelona Supercomputing Center which is Spain's High Performance Computing center managing MareNostrum, one of the 8 most powerful supercomputers in Europe, located in the Torre Girona chapel. A big thanks to Mariona Sanz Ausàs for her fascinating presentation on how the center is at the forefront of computing and AI innovation.

▶️ La Roca Village on the outskirts of the city, one of a Collection of 11 global shopping destinations, all home to world leading fashion and lifestyle brands at exceptional prices. A big thanks to the entire Management Team for their presentation of their business model and their actions to support Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and turn their site into a more sustainable self-sufficient one.

▶️ The event finished at 37th America's Cup Experience, where all the students had the chance to learn more about the economic impact that the 37th edition of the America’s Cup will have on the city through the testimonials of Daniel Puig, Vice president of Barcelona Global and President of the Executive Committee of the Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica; Mercè Conesa Pagès, CEO of Barcelona Global; and Natàlia Via-Dufresne Pereña, Director of External Relations at America's Cup Experience.

💡 Promoting Barcelona as a city where those young talented professionals can undertake, activate new projects or develop their business ideas will help in building a richer, plural and diverse city.
